Match description

Introduction
Engelbrektsträffen SRA 2025 is the first open invitation SRA-match in Sweden. For the last few years, we have arranged club level competitions and regional cup competitions. As the sport is expanding in Sweden we thought that it was time to host a proper open invitation match for SRA shooters worldwide (albeit mostly around the Baltic sea).
As this is our first larger competition, we surely will make some mistakes along the way. We are very grateful for any feedback and ask for your patience should there be any problems. After the match feedback can be sent to info@fvskf.se and will be reviewed during the match organizations after action review.
We hope that this match will be a catalyst in the evolution of SRA shooting in Sweden.
The history of Engelbrektsträffen
For many years, Engelbrektsträffen was a competition arranged by the Västmanland Voluntary Defence Education and Training Federation. The competition was Nordic field shooting with rifle, submachine gun, or assault rifle and both military personnel and voluntary sharpshooters participated. Continuing this tradition as an SRA competition was a natural step given the evolution of military shooting sports.
The competition is named after the folk hero Engelbrekt Engelbrektsson, famous for leading the peasantry in several uprisings against the Danish crown and its bailiff in Västerås in 1433 and 1434. He is also credited with the gathering of the first Riksdag (Swedish parliament) in 1435 in nearby Arboga. As a fighter for both Swedish independence and the rights of the common man, as well as a native of the province, he is a fitting symbol for voluntary national defense activities in Västmanland.
Tactical situation
The match is based on a scenario in which the enemy has crossed into NATO territory in northern Europe and the Baltic states.
You are serving as a light infantryman in Division North. Your battalion is tasked with patrolling the FLOT (forward line of own troops), defending key terrain, and harassing the enemy with ambushes and raids. The terrain is mainly deep forest, dense with pine and spruce trees, forcing the mechanized enemy to use roads for fast maneuvering. The enemy is heavily reliant on the use of drones, emphasizing our need to stay under the cover of trees as much as possible. With short shooting distances and few built up areas you are well off with your carbine, but some operations might warrant the use of a marksman rifle. And you will occasionally need an NLAW…
